2014 Red Bull Indianapolis GP Kicks Off With Red Bull Mini Moto Racing in Broad Ripple
Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Many who aspire to someday challenge Marc Marquez, Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi on the MotoGP World Championship circuit will showcase their talents at the Red Bull Mini Moto in Broad Ripple on Sunday, Aug. 3, from 1-5 p.m.

Held the weekend before the 2014 Red Bull Indianapolis GP Aug. 8-10 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Red Bull Mini Moto will be contested on Broad Ripple Avenue between Guilford Avenue and Carrollton Avenue in Indianapolis.

The Red Bull Mini Moto is open to riders 18 years or older who will race mini bikes at speeds reaching 35 mph. Two-person teams will take turns completing laps on the course with the top three teams winning bragging rights and tickets to the 2014 Red Bull Indianapolis GP.

The Red Bull Indianapolis GP is the 10th round of the MotoGP World Championship, the most prestigious motorcycle road racing series in the world. It has taken place annually since 2008 on the 16-turn, 2.591-mile road circuit at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that incorporates part of the Speedway's famous oval. All three World Championship classes compete at the event: MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, along with the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series.
