ABATE TO RESUME SKILL TESTING
ABATE of Indiana
After months of negotiations with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), ABATE of Indiana will resume Rider Skill Tests effective immediately. ABATE had serious concerns about the safety of applicants related to changes made to the test by the BMV. ABATE was able to convince the BMV to allow for a change that addresses these concerns.
ABATE Executive Director, Jay Jackson, had this to say, “We appreciate the patience of Hoosier riders and the cooperation of the BMV. Although we wish this could have happened sooner, we are pleased to be able to resume this service to Indiana motorcyclists in a safe, reasonable, accessible, and economical manner.”
Go to the ABATE website, ABATEonline.org (/education/motorcycle-license-testing/), to find schedules and test locations. ABATE also offers motorcycle rider courses statewide, just as we have for nearly 45 years, providing this invaluable, life-saving, community service to almost 150,000 Indiana motorcyclists.
